WEST Center of Diagnostics  and Therapy relies on the most up-to-date technologies not only when choosing methods for treating a whole spectrum of both malignant and benign diseases (including Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)/Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), stereotaxia of the head and the body, deep inspiration breathhold, Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT)) – the communication of patients with specialists of the Center is supported by innovation OPASCA patient flow control system. Due to this, the treatment process becomes more understandable for the patient, it can be better evaluated, and the work of administrative personnel and waiting time can be significantly reduced. Thus, from the outset, there is more time for the patient to contact the Center's staff, which is for Mr. Dr. Katirana an integral part of the recovery process.

Already during the first visit each patient receives an individual, anonymous patient sheet, through which he can subsequently register himself for consultation with a specialist. By attaching your patient's sheet to the digital registration terminal, you will receive all the necessary information about your consultation. If, as a result of any emergency, the time of your consultation has shifted, or the consultation will take place in another room, then the relevant information will be displayed on a large display or be notified to you by a beep. In addition, patients undergoing treatment can express their wishes for consultations with specialists and prescriptions for medications using a touch terminal. In the waiting area there is a digital information display on which you can find entertainment programs and information about the team of practicing specialists of our Center. In order to preserve the patient's confidentiality and to avoid confusion when the patient is invited to the reception, a color combination of the numbers indicated on the patient's individual sheet and the patient's photo are displayed on the information display. This procedure is simple, understandable and meets the requirements of the Regulation on Personal Data Protection, which came into force at the end of May. The information display along with the patient's relevant data will also indicate the individual waiting time. This creates an atmosphere of openness and emphasizes the distinctive concept of patient care in our institution.

Another innovation that contributes to improving safety is the automatic verification of the patient's sheet before entering the radiation therapy room. Only after successful identification of the patient individual therapy configurations are loaded.
